Mom of the Year + Bucket List Win

Instead of mapping out goals this year I created a 2024 bingo board, and over the weekend I got to mark off a big one: LIVE SHOW

I grew up going to concerts and love live music, but since we started growing our family I haven’t really been to a big, loud, jump around concert. We’ve done big worship events and small venues to support our friends, but I wanted to introduce my kids to the experience of a bigger show. So when The Breath & The Clay announced that Elephant Heart would be at their conference, I immediately reached out and got concert only tickets for me, Schyler and Selah.

Elephant Heart is one of those bands our whole family can agree on:  high energy, creative music with a positive message. We all know their Seasons album by heart!

We got all dressed up with dyed hair, neon tattoos, and glow stick jewelry. We drove three hours there and back on Saturday and arrived early to experience the immersive art exhibits before the concert.

They were so kind to my kids, who are still gushing about the concert days later. Schyler strung up all the used glow sticks around the minivan and is still asking for more tattoos. (He’s getting close to full sleeves now)

If you’ve never heard their music, go check them out on YouTube. I have a couple of videos in my Pop the Light playlist.

Bonus: I got to chat with Jason & Victoria after the show for a bit. Meeting Jason Evigan has been on my songwriter bucket list for years. If you don’t know who he is, Uncle Google can tell you about all the people he’s worked with (including my other bucket list songwriter to meet — Jon Bellion). Jason's interview with Iris After Hours is what made me a fan for life.
